In this section we share and reveal some of our research.  This includes where we feel we have got to in our thinking.  This is not a complete and final view, but a staging post in the journey.  We have broken the repository into three parts.

  1. Stories and Mythologies
  2. Personal experiences
  3. Books and links

The first is stories and mythologies, well actually they are all stories, but some have stood the test of time more than others.  The mythologies are more than stories as they often form part of the cultural belief system and become the founding stones of shared beliefs and shape opinion.  What fascinates us, in our research we often find stories that have crossed land, sea and time and been reborn in a quite different culture, for example the number of cultures that have stories of a great flood, or the visitation of winged beings/shining ones.

The second section is made of personal experiences that people have wanted to share about being touched by angels.  We did make some clear editorial decisions here.  There are many many stories about Angels saving someone.  Our view of angels is they are not fluffy golden blonde beings, benign and ready to answer the call of anyone in distress – a fluffy superman (or woman).  Nor do we believe that angels are only a part of the Christian domain.  Whilst this idea has been a great driver for art and stories through the ages, our research and instincts tell us otherwise.

The third section is an edited list of Books and links we have read, reviewed and discussed.  To try and make it easy, we have divided this section into six sub sections; Angels, Magic, Mythology, Egyptian, Religion, Science & Research.  Some titles could as easily fit into more than category, so we argued and then made a decision, so there are no double entries.  We have tried to keep the lists short, so it is possible to work through them and we have used the Harvard referencing system. We know that it is not easy to find some of these book, but part of the joy for us has been to track down a hard to find text and have an opportunity to open a copy and breathe in the history locked between the pages.
